About us
One consultant, holding the whole project together.
Mentor Consulting Group is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and East Africa — from the first feasibility question to final handover.
The practice
Built around one change.
Founded in 2020 by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shawky, MCG was built around one change: instead of passing a project between disconnected specialists, we put architects, structural and MEP engineers, surveyors, restoration experts and BIM specialists on the same model, with the same data and the same accountability from day one.
That structure is why we can move at the speed of a megaproject without treating heritage as an obstacle — and why our clients include ministries, sovereign authorities, national banks and private developers. Today MCG operates from four offices in Egypt, two in Saudi Arabia and two in the UAE, with a ninth being established in Tanzania.
Our mission
To help people value their heritage and build their future — through trust, integrity and innovation.
Our vision
To be the firm that proves majestic cultural structures and innovative sustainable societies belong in the same sentence.

Founder
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shawky
Founder & Chairman · Concrete structures design and repair consultant
Thirty-five years in engineering consultancy and project management. He began as a civil engineer with one of Egypt’s leading consulting firms from 1986 to 1991, before completing his PhD at the University of Tokyo.
He has managed and supervised more than 2,000 projects. In 2020 he founded MCG to put a different model into practice — one built for the scale and speed of the region’s development, without compromising the cultural fabric it is built on.

Our values
Four commitments we are willing to lose work over.
Integrity over advantage
We put our clients’ interests first, offering recommendations we would stand behind ourselves — even when doing so means expanding the scope of our work.
Heritage through expertise
Heritage conservation demands more than aesthetics. It requires rigorous historical research, material analysis, and structural engineering to preserve the authenticity and integrity of historic buildings.
One team, one integrated model
Early collaboration and shared data enable our multidisciplinary teams to identify conflicts before they arise. Our BIM workflow supports coordinated, informed, and efficient project delivery.
Quality you can verify
Our ISO certifications reflect an operational commitment to quality, accountability and continuous improvement — embedded in our management systems and project delivery processes.
