Cairo University Central Library

Cairo University Library, affiliated to Cairo University in Giza, includes about a million books — among them rare and valuable books of science and literature — as well as collections of papyrus and ancient coins.

The library has its own printing sector that prints professors' research and the colleges' scientific journals. It was established with the university in 1908 and remains in the same building located in the Orman Garden since 1932.

The library subscribes to about 1,400 Western journals and exchanges publications with about 400 European scientific organisations. All the libraries of the colleges and institutes of Cairo University follow it.
