Health services are among the main essentials required in recent years, and in light of the serious epidemics that have spread around the world.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health therefore held a competition for a prototype hospital model that could be built in any location by adhering to a fixed number of floors — ground plus four upper floors, without a basement.

The prototype is divided into: emergency, gastrointestinal endoscopy, outpatient clinics, burns inpatient, radiology, burns intensive care, laboratories, obstetrics and gynaecology, blood bank, obstetrics inpatient, dialysis, premature infants, physiotherapy, general inpatient, surgical intensive care, cardiac catheterisation, paediatric intensive care, cardiac intensive care, internal medicine intensive care, operating theatres, central pharmacy, drug information centre, solution preparation unit, central kitchen, sterile IV, central laundry, central workshops, central sterilisation, gas station, administration, prayer hall, training and research centre, doctors' accommodation, mortuary, workers' changing rooms and workers' restaurant.
