Beit Zainal

Beit Zainal is one of the oldest concrete structures in Historic Jeddah and a prominent architectural and heritage landmark. It was formerly known as the Dutch House, having served as the residence of the Dutch Consulate until the 1950s.

Strategically located at the entrance to Historic Jeddah, the building belonged to Hajj Zainal Ali Reza, known in Jeddah as the benefactor of the poor for his care and donations.

As part of the initiative to preserve and repurpose historic buildings, Beit Zainal was selected for restoration and adaptive reuse — reintegrating it into the urban fabric of Historic Jeddah in alignment with sustainable development goals and enhancing its cultural value as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
