Sayyida Nafisa Mosque

The restoration and development of Sayyida Nafisa Mosque comes within the Egyptian state's plan for the care of places of worship in general, and its attention to Historic Cairo and the mosques of Ahl al-Bayt in particular — a programme extending from the Aqueduct of the Water Wheels through Fustat, Sayyida Aisha, Sayyida Nafisa, Old Cairo, Al-Hussein, Sayyida Zeinab and Al-Ashraf Street.

Sayyida Nafisa Mosque is among the most important Islamic mosques and pilgrimage sites in Egypt.

Works included the development of the mosque enclosure, the shrine and the surrounding area, upgrading of the square and all streets around and leading to the mosque, an increase in green areas, and restoration of all surrounding buildings.
